Introducing the ultimate nonprofit storytelling competition!
a GIVE Alumni Initiative
Turtle Tank is a competition founded by alumni of the Business Volunteers GIVE Fellowship as a fun, engaging way to provide monetary support to Baltimore-area nonprofits participating in GIVE Advisory Projects.
Since 2010, The GIVE Fellowship has engaged an annual cohort of professionals dedicated to personal growth and civic leadership in a seven-month intensive program. As a component to the Fellowship, GIVE Fellows work on Advisory Project teams to consult with select, Baltimore-based, grassroots nonprofits on a business challenge they’re facing.
Now in its third year, Turtle Tank is an opportunity for Advisory Project teams to demonstrate their storytelling skills by:
- producing a 90 second video “commercial” about the incredible impact of their nonprofit partners in the Baltimore Region, and
- sharing a presentation on the impact of their project!
At GIVE Graduation on November 7, 2024, we will hold the third annual Turtle Tank competition, where hundreds of stakeholders will gather to celebrate the Fellows and view the commercials and presentations for the first time. Teams who produce the most compelling videos can win the vote of our judges and the audience to secure prize money for their respective nonprofit partners!
All nonprofits walk away with a produced video commercial, a project deliverable, and some monetary award tat can support their organization – everyone’s a winner!
While BVM is itself a nonprofit organization, 100% of money raised for Turtle Tank will be re-granted to the nonprofits participating in GIVE Advisory Projects. More information on these nonprofits can be found below.
Thank you for helping us give back to deserving nonprofits!
