Business Volunteers Maryland’s board matching services trains and matches business professionals to positions on nonprofit boards and committees.
For individuals seeking to become involved in community leadership, the Board Leadership Program prepares and recommends candidates for board positions, according to the needs expressed by nonprofit organizations, and the interests and skills of individual candidates.
Business Volunteers works with more than 400 nonprofits which provides each candidate with a broad and diverse array of organizations to consider supporting and helps them connect with the most appropriate and meaningful opportunity.
Board Candidate Criteria:
- Interest in supporting the community and desire to get involved
- Expertise and achievement in their field
- Willingness to utilize leadership and business skills to advance the mission
of a nonprofit organization - Commitment and readiness to serve on the board of a nonprofit organization in Central Maryland
