This virtual workshop will focus on building strategic partnerships that result in deeper volunteer recruitment, engagement and retention. Building strong relationships with key businesses, organizations, and stakeholders is critical to furthering your organization’s mission and impact. Through discussion, data, and case studies, our presenter will share the blueprint for developing dynamic partnerships that result in the recruitment of long-term volunteers who bring time, leadership, and resources with their commitment.

Trainer Information
Brian Gerardo is the Associate Director, Civic Impact at Business Volunteers Maryland. In his role, he leads a team that focuses on our community engagement work, specifically skilled volunteer events and education initiatives. Prior to BVM, Brian co-founded and served as the Executive Director of the Baltimore Dance Crews Project.
Brian’s dedication to social change led him to fellowships with the Open Society Institute, Salzburg Global Seminar, and Baltimore Corps. He has been recognized as a Martin Luther King Jr. Champion of Courage, Global Innovator by Teach For All, and Social Innovator by the Schusterman Family Foundation in Israel.
His career started as a teacher in Baltimore City Public Schools. Brian earned a B.A. from Virginia Tech with a double major in Public and Urban Affairs and Political Science with a minor in Leadership and Social Change and a joint MBA/MA in Design Leadership from Johns Hopkins University and the Maryland Institute College of Art.
