GIVE Program Components
The GIVE Program is a nine month experience that begins in February and ends in November. The core components include monthly learning seminars, volunteer experiences, and networking events that enhance personal and professional development. There is also a Leadership Action Project that is designed to create a stronger cohort experience while strengthening leadership skills, project planning, decision making, and collaboration. Classmates are asked to commit an average of 5 to 10 hours per month.
GIVE Classmates attend monthly workshops to develop leadership skills and become stronger civic leaders. Workshops assist classmates in identifying a path to become more deeply involved in Baltimore area nonprofits and schools.
GIVE Classmates, Advisory Committee and Alumni Network members participate in volunteer expperiences that heighten their awareness of community needs and provide exposure to nonprofits that address those needs.
Leadership Action Projects
GIVE Leadership Action Projects are designed to challenge classmates to combine their leadership skills with their passion for volunteering to make a difference in their community. Through experiential learning, classmates are divided into small teams to address various community issues by partnering with nonprofit organizations and schools throughout the region.
